Waterwell Drills

Waterwells helped lead the foundation of some of man’s earliest towns and villages, providing an essential need in the survival and expansion of cities.

UsedRigs.com offers a variety of water well drills

Water Well Drill RigsToday, waterwell drilling is the process of digging, driving, boring, or drilling a hole in the ground for the extraction of a natural resource such as ground water, natural gas, or petroleum. Waterwell drills also can be used for geothermal drilling applications, whether they be commercial or residential.

Drilled wells can access water from a much deeper level that dugs wells. These wells can vary greatly in depth, water volume, and water quality, and are generally created with either top-head rotary style, table rotary, or cable tool drilling machines, all using drilling stems that are turned to create a cutting action in the formation. Well water drawn by pumps and raised mechanically typically contain more minerals than surface water and may require treatment to soften the water.

The upper part of the well is lined with a casing to prevent the collapse of the borehole wall, as well as to prevent surface or subsurface contaminants from entering the water supply and provide a housing for the pumping mechanism and pipe.
